Description
Like a musical hypnogram, “Stages of sleep” guides us through the different sleep phases. When we close our eyes, the hustle and bustle of the day starts to replay: the boss was angry, the bus was too late, the children were so hectic. Won a ping pong game, enjoyed a glass of wine. Dozing, still a bit restless, thinking about the work of tomorrow. Suddenly a shock, the well known fall. Then at last, the night brings some peace and quiet. Digging into memories, the absurd awaits. The dog of the neighbours steals a coconut. The baker attempts to catch a tram on a mountain, on its way to no-man’s-land. A song from childhood, a foreign language, a Christmas party on the moon. Gibbering and grinding, marbles and flippers. Everything becomes vague and incoherent. A dark place in the land of dreams, where murder and theft occur. A man with a knife. Shadows and demons. Sweating and gasping in fear. Then the mischief makes way for peace. Wandering in a sunny land of gingerbread and rainbows, where animals can talk and peace prevails. Everyone knows each other by name. At dawn it all turns out to be a dream. Or not? Goodnight!
