Description
This composition was commissioned by percussion group Crescendo Ooy-Zevenaar conducted by Ria Kornet for the Première Festival. The intention was to write a composition with influences from and references to light music. The mysterious introduction marks the beginning of this work, in which the vibraphone freely plays chords accompanied by horizontal chords. This is followed by a rhythmic swing section using syncopation and bar changes. The middle part is, as it were, a scheme over which such as marimba, vibraphone and snare drum can be soloed. This culminates in an ad libitum drum set solo. Then the rhythmic swing part returns, expanding and leading to the conclusion of this composition.
