Program Notes
I received a request from JWECC to create an encore piece featuring percussion and I produced a light piece with three snare drummers as soloists. . JWECC Festival Orchestra premiered in March 2008 (conducted by Hisaatsu Kondo). "Six sticks" refers to a total of 6 plectrums, 2 plectrums, and 3 people to operate, covering a variety of playing skills such as one stick and one stick. The song consists of two melodies, the first half is bright and jumpy, and the second half is smooth. The tempo doesn't change much, but doubling it makes it a samba marusa or bolero, and the song ends with a bolero. The stick work of the three snare players is shown, including the wire brush that appears in the second half of the song, including the jazzy whoosh.
