Description
Combining traditional instruments with industrial sounds (metal crashers, glass bottles) as well as piano, Interstellar by Tom Nazziola is a textural exploration of the percussion ensemble in the manner of an orchestra. Soaring melodies and dense harmonies are accompanied by layers of polyrhythms. The result is a massive percussive organism that grooves, shimmers and explodes with color. WINNER of the 2016 Percussive Arts Society Composition Contest for Large Percussion Ensemble.
