Program Notes

The Glockenspiel part uses two “C” Boomwhackers throughout most of the tune. You’ll need to attach “octavators” to each, which will lower the pitch an octave. (These can be purchased through Row-Loff Productions) An alternative would be a thin pvc sewer pipe played with hard yarn mallets. The pipe needs to be 4 inches in width and 8 foot-9 inches in length. Make sure the end / opening of the pipe is facing the audience when performing. At letter D some players go to trash cans or Concert tom-toms when performing the “battle” with the drum set player. Be sure to have them set-up close by for the quick move back to their instrument, (2 bars), afterwards. The trash cans should have lids removed and placed upside down on the floor, striking on the bottom of the can. Make sure to hear strong, Rocky “HUHS” in bars 77 & 81! As with all tunes in the Poppedsicles! package, make sure the drum set and bass guitar don’t audibly overpower the ensemble.
