Program Notes
This piece is intended for high school or college percussion ensembles. It attempts to bring some traditional marching elements to the indoor concert setting. Corps-tet was written a few years ago, and has now been revised and re-formatted for publication.
Performance Notes
1. While the piece obviously reflects a drum line / rudimentary style, it is important that rolls be performed in the concert style! These rolls are notated with the standard triple slash through the beam. For the more open sound, fiddles are notated with a single slash through the beam.
2. Marking time with the feet is not suggested.
3. It is suggested that visuals be added at the discretion of the ensemble. In particular, a unified style of playing the stick clicks, when possible, is recommended.
