Description

Concertino for Marimba and Piano by George Frock gives any young marimbist a good opportunity to learn how to play music with an accompaniment. Most of the piece utilizes two mallets, with a very short four-mallet chorale about two-thirds of the way through. Written all the way back in 1969, this piece of music isn't terribly adventurous, with a marimba part that is mostly scales and brief arpeggios. It's pleasant to listen to and would make an effective teaching tool - and it might be nice for a young student to put on a recital!
