Program Notes

Beacons of Light by Chad Heiny is an intermediate percussion ensemble written in memory of Ryan McCutcheon. This work uses a variety of bright, metallic instruments like cymbals, crotales, and chimes in order to create collections of sound to represent actual light rays. Written for a large ensemble, this work is a beautiful addition to any percussion concert and is a great way for younger percussionists to start their journey into percussion ensemble playing.
