Program Notes

Sprung-Out pub. (1998) was written for Sprung, a percussion sextet based in Sydney, Australia. There are two main types of material in the work: energetic hand drum music and syncopated, line driven keyboard music. Throughout the work, these materials are increasingly mixed together, amid various twists and turns, until they are thoroughly combined at the end.[1]

Review

“…subtly-voiced bongos and congas deliver an energetic drive to this attractive and enjoyable work which deserves more hearings”
