Description

Playa Caliente... A lazy and nice hot day on the beach! You may know them, those lazy and beautiful hot summer days on the beach! This is the source of inspiration for this composition. Playa Caliente is a cheerful Latin American (LA) oriented composition. There is a melodic accent on the marimbas and xylophones. Due to its simplicity in rhythm, the work can be played by many ensembles. It will certainly appeal to the audience because of its cheerful character and recognizability! I leave the use of the right mallets for each instrument to the preference of the artistic directors. Ad libitum, tremolos can be added to the xylophones / marimba. Drum set part is written quite "static and more supportive". The drummer can add his own fills that fit within the character of the piece. In the untuned percussion, the accent is on the bongos and congas, which underline the LA character of the piece. The bass drum and snare drum are credited as parts ad libitum. So you can choose from a version with drum set, snare and bass drum or just drum set and or only bass drum and snare drum. We wish you a lot of fun!
