Instrumentation

Triangle & Wood Block & Tambourine & Suspended Cymbal & 4 Tom Toms

Description

Scored for four tom-toms and a variety of mounted percussion instruments, this unaccompanied solo by Tom Gauger starts with an elegant, almost regal rhythmic theme. It then goes through several sections that demonstrate the colors of the set-up as well as the player's ability to effectively use double-sticking and accents. The theme is restated at the end making Nomad a well-formed, fun piece to play.
