Description

Rocco Granata plays in his own orchestra at a young age: “The International Quintet”, in which he sings and plays the accordion. At the age of 20 he wrote the song 'Manuela' and recorded it with his own Quintet. Because vinyl singles have two sides, a second song must be included, the so-called B-side. He needs a song quickly and writes down a song, 'Marina', the lyrics of which are not even completely finished on the recording day itself. Because no record company wants to release the single, he decides to release it himself. The first pressing in-house consists of 300 copies.

The lyrics of the song are about a boy who is in love with the dark-haired Marina and wants to win her heart (cuor). One day he sees her alone, expresses his crush and follows the first kiss (baccio). This is the beginning of a blossoming love. In the chorus he addresses her directly and asks her to marry him (sposar).
