Sigma Squared Music is owned and operated by Steve Winstead. Steve is a composer, arranger, and musician living in Columbus, OH. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Capital University in Columbus, where his teachers included Rocky Reuter, Mark Lochstampfor, and James Swearingen.

Steve spent 13 years in the Army Band program, including a tour overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As an Army musician, he played clarinet and bass guitar, and premiered several original compositions as well as a number of arrangements. ​His assignments included the 392nd Army Band at Fort Lee, VA, the 3rd Infantry Division Band at Fort Stewart, GA, and the 122nd Army Band in Columbus, OH.

When Steve isn't obsessing about music, he is a credentialed actuary working for Assurant.[1]
