Description

Time is Relative was commissioned by Hinds Community College Percussion Studio and is notated for percussion ensemble (8 – 11 players). I’ve always been attracted to the idea of poly-meter / metric ambiguity in music. I really wanted to run with this concept as a compositional tool and create a piece that at various points could be perceived in different meters / time signatures, even from one listener to the next.
