Description
The title “The Principle Delusion” in its meaning has to do with confusion in both science and religion between monotheism and monism. We think always that science is the one with all the correct answers because it always has some proof inside its equations. That is of course true but not for all. In one moment we have to realize how science is far away from giving answers and leave us with more questions. The piece contains of two movements. The first movement starts with mysterious character with strong tremolo chords which are collapsing on each other. The second half of this movement changes the character into more infantile, charming, warm, happy, but also angry, massive and chaotic. It is kept in fast tempo in linear compositional fashion. The second movement which starts attaca is continuing the anger in broader context. The whole quartet is very intense with constantly developing narration and thick texture which is also a big challenge for the performers to keep the musical ideas clear and bring all the character from it.
