Steven Wimberley is an active percussion educator, technician, arranger, composer, and performer located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As an educator, he has taught applied lessons, marching percussion, steel band, and percussion ensemble. As an arranger, he has written percussion parts for a variety of schools throughout Louisiana and Texas. He has worked both independently and under a supervisor to craft parts for several percussion sections on the high school and collegiate level. As a composer, his works have been performed on various recitals, concerts, and new music festivals. As a performer, Steven has performed at various high schools and universities on tours through out Louisiana and Texas. Additionally, he has performed at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy’s student recital in 2019, 2021, and 2022, as well as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention’s Concert Chamber Competition in 2019 and the New Literature Session in 2021.
