Editor's Notes

Throughout my years of teaching and playing there has been a definite absence of published material available for reference and the study of orchestral percussion repertoire. Because of this, I have compiled the volumes in this series in the hope that they will be of use to the student, teacher and professional percussionist alike in examination, audition and orchestral preparation. I must point out, however that the excerpts are by no means complete (an arrow is used to indicate excluded bars) and are therefore not for use on the concert platform. Remember to experiment with different drums and stickings, so adding a personal touch to your interpretation.
