Based on the song of the same name by the master of funk, James Brown, this solo for snare drum lays it down for all to hear. Diverse techniques are used; musicality is a must and naturally a sense of groove is required to match the big man himself. This work is a commission for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Snare Drum Award.
