Dr Jill Jarman is a contemporary classical composer and jazz pianist. Her compositions reflect these genres, effortlessly merging the boundaries between both. Arising from her interest in using science and the natural environment to inform musical composition, are pieces such as Soundwaves of light (2006), an orchestral tapestry based on the light frequencies of the stars in the sky; and H20 (2010), an orchestral work imitating the molecular behaviour of water.
