for the 2015 ESU Music Day Percussion Section.
 +
Anxiety was written for the 2015 ESU Music Day Percussion Section. This is a day where as many as 40-50 musicians come together and perform chamber music with each other. This piece was designed for the high school students to perform for the closing concert. The piece is written to allow multiple players playing a variety of instruments on each of the mallet and percussion parts. Drumset and timpani parts are for one player each. The drumset parts are meant to be a feature of sorts and should be given to those who are comfortable soloing.
 +
The composition plays with many sounds that might sound edgy and help to produce a bit of musical anxiety in its tone. The use of the siren and the chord clusters allow the audience to feel the anxious nature of the piece while the rock beats in the drums provide a steady groove.
