In 1966, Yasnori Yamaguchi held a percussion solo recital at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, attracting attention.
In 1970, Yasnori Yamaguchi premiered [[Toru Takemitsu]]'s "The Four Seasons" at the Osaka World Expo. From 1972 to 1973, he was a member of the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1972, he formed the contemporary music performance group "Ark" with pianist Aki Takahashi and flutist Hiroshi Koizumi.
In 1983, Yasnori Yamaguchi received the "First Kenzo Nakajima Award." In the same year, he held a solo recital at the "11th Music Today" event, planned by [[Toru Takemitsu]].
