Putting together harmony of modern jazz and catchy melodies to create a musical energy that is both provocative and distinct. Max Marsillo’s music has a unique sound that is rooted in tradition, yet looking to the future.
Max Marsillo blends elements of ECM and Jazz Fusion, creating an exciting and energetic modern sound. Max has written for numerous projects, however the guitar quartet is his primary focus and has cultivated his own sound through this musical situation.
As a sideman, Max has performed with Ashley Pezzotti, Louis Amanti, John Daversa, Nudeco Ensemble, Shelly Berg and many others. Additionally, Max can be heard on the following records as drummer and co-composer: Triptych Continuum, Forward Motion, Happenin’stance (Waves De Ache).
Since then, Max Marsillo’s group has played a variety of venues in Miami, including Clarke Recital Hall, WDNA FM radio, and Lagniappe. The band features many of the South Florida region’s finest players, including Guitarist Tim Watson, Pianist Connor Rohrer, and Bassist Marty Quinn.[1]
