Program Notes

I was fortunate to serve as an Artist in Residence for a month at the Studios of Key West in Key West, Florida. Through the lens of residents, tourists, coworkers, and friends, I grew to appreciate just what a rich cast of characters call this tropical island home. Soon the island's most profound treasure came in to focus – community. To celebrate this exchange, it has been an honor and privilege to pen this collection of new works for the 4.3. octave concert marimba entitled Mile Marker Zero.
