Kit Mills works to contribute a little spice to the tapestry of ourtimes through creating winsome music abounding in memorable tunes, poignant harmonies, and rhythmic vitality. A native (and ardent admirer) of beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington state, Kit Mills currently serves the northern Puget Sound region as an enthusiastic percussion instructor and frequent musical presenter/coach in local schools. His eclectic and broad compositional output ranges across numerous instrumental and stylistic genres, though he particularly enjoys writing miniatures, music for percussion, music for strings, and music for student/amateur musicians. Believing that music making is most vital when it is centered in community, Kit's foremost passion is building treasured partnerships with musicians and listeners spanning the full spectrum of technical ability and experience, and then bringing well-crafted (if sometimes quirky) music into new spaces, surprising and attracting new audiences. Performers have brought his music to life in summer festivals, concert halls, schools and universities, retirement centers, farmers' markets, national parks, churches, busy intersections, and private residences across the U.S.A. and overseas.
