Wes Denkins is currently working as a freelance performer and educator in eastern Kentucky. Formerly, Mr. Denkins was the band director at Morgan County Middle School in West Liberty, Kentucky. At MCMS, he coordinated the beginning band program and developed the curriculum for use in his 6th-8th grade general music and music appreciation courses. Wes has also served as the percussion instructor at Montgomery County High School in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, where he led both marching band and concert band sectionals and taught weekly private lessons to percussion students. Being a student at Morehead afforded Wes the chance to meet and work with world famous percussion virtuosos such as [[Tim Palmer]] and Jason Huxtable of Maraca2, Patricia Islas and Doug Bush of Team Islas, [[Arthur Lipner]], Keith Aleo, Casey Cangelosi, Anders Astrand, She-e Wu, and John W. Parks IV.
