Description
The idea behind Percuaderno 1 (Percussion Book 1) is based on several years of work as teachers in the field of percussion. Our experience with students has prompted us to create a modern, familiar, dynamic percussion method. The most important concepts leading us to undertake this project are as follows:
- Create a more approachable method, including four characters who offer advice to students throughout the booklet.
- The book is divided into three blocks, with clearly differentiated objectives, which will facilitate the work and organisation for both teacher and student.
- Manuscript reading lessons that include lyrics, so students can sing along with the teacher (almost all popular tunes), thereby encouraging work both at home and in class.
- Synchronise the musical language goals with those of percussion.
- Motivate, as the key to our work. This method along with a teacher’s supervision guarantees effectiveness.
This book is complemented by Percuaderno de verano 1 (Summer Percussion Book 1), which reviews the aspects worked on during the course.
