Description

This piece was commissioned for the 2010 "Yoshiwara Sumire Percussion Recital." Regarding this work, Koide says that he drew inspiration from the handiwork of geisha in "Konpira Funefune," a song widely known as a parlor game song, and further incorporated the lively atmosphere of "Li Bai's House" that appears in the novel "The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl" (Tomihiko Morimi), condensing the essence of parlor games in a fictional geisha district.

Small percussion instruments such as the African-originated asalato, harmonica, wind chimes, chanchiki, bongos, cowbells, and guiro are used, and while it is a compact set that can be performed in an actual parlor, you can also enjoy the technical aspect of rapidly switching between several instruments.
