Drummer Wolfgang Roggenkamp, born in Steinfeld / Germany, starts playing drums at the age of 7 and decides at the age of 16 to pursue a professional music career.
The young student completed classical studies at the Conservatorium in Osnabrück, from 1986-1989. In the years 1989 - 1993 he studied jazz, rock and pop at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. In 1996, Wolfgang takes to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Already in these early years, Wolfgang has many engagements, goes on tour and plays records. Many collaborations with trumpeter Uli Beckerhoff, guitarist Peter O'Mara, Helmut Hattler, Johnny Heartsman and Kenny Wheeler make him an experienced musician.
He leaves the position of the "drummer only" as over the years compositions and keyboard instruments develop into another field of work.[1]
