[[Mudra]] by [[Bob Becker]] is a [[percussion quintet]] that combines traditional North Indian music with Western rudimental drumming, featuring a soloist. This piece is almost guaranteed to be unlike most of the other repertoire on your concert, adding a very worldly color to any recital or concert. The four percussionists supporting the soloist have the downplayed challenge of counting correctly, which can be very difficult to do within some quite long musical phrases. The soloist needs to have a great amount of control on the snare drum, especially with clean, fast, low rolls.
