John Lindberg recently retired from the Virginia Symphony, where he served as Principal Percussionist and then as Principal Timpanist for the past 20 years. While with the VSO, John  premiered two works , Johan Franco's Concerto Lyrico #4 for Percussion and Orchestra and Thomas Rice's Concerto for Timpani and Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Lindberg teaches at The College of William & Mary, where he has taught for over 35 years. In addition to individual lessons, he also leads the Percussion Ensemble. John served as President of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 125 from 1995-2010. Orchestra: Virginia - The Big List of timpanists - Virginia Symphony



John Lindberg recently retired from the Virginia Symphony, where he served as Principal Percussionist and then as Principal Timpanist for the past 20 years. While with the VSO, John premiered two works , Johan Franco's Concerto Lyrico #4 for Percussion and Orchestra and Thomas Rice's Concerto for Timpani and Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Lindberg teaches at The College of William & Mary, where he has taught for over 35 years. In addition to individual lessons, he also leads the Percussion Ensemble.
