Performance Notes
“Howl” is based a popular theme from Grieg’s “Hall of the Mountain King”. Letter C and the ending were composed by yours truly to add a couple of different colors to the piece and give it a traditional classical ending. The drum set player in this piece will play several simple yet distinctive grooves, including a classic James Brown groove with a slight syncopation. An inspired performance should leave your audience humming a little Edvarg Grieg when they’re leaving the auditorium.
