Program Notes

This is one of the movements to my Sonata No. 9 for solo vibraphone. It is a title that Eastman School of Music percussion professor John H. Beck has used in his music compositions for percussion. I looked the term up in my unabridge dictionary, and it means basically a "short happening," to use avant garde terminology. It is a lot of fun to play going like the wind, so to speak, and a challenge to make sense musically. This reminds me of Mozart, where the notated music is only the start of something big.
