With degrees from the State University of New York at Fredonia (BS Music Education), Ithaca College (MM Performance), and Indiana University (DM), Rudy studied tuba performance with Harvey Phillips and was the first recipient of the William J. Bell Memorial Scholarship at IU.
After serving 32 years on the music faculty at Fredonia State, he recently retired to devote more time to the restoration of the Victorian mansion in which he and his family live. While at Fredonia he taught tuba, class percussion, and conducting. He also directed the Fredonia Brass Choir and College Symphony Orchestra.
Rudy is a member of the Kappa Gamma Pso and Pi Kappa Lambda fraternities, T.U.B.A., MENC and NYSSMA.[1]
