Review

This short composition for solo vibraphone is written without a key signature, but with much of the material centered around a tonal center of F. There is an absence of three- or four-note chords, so the performer will have the option of paying with either two, three, or four mallets. There are also no pedal suggestions, so the performer must make pedaling or dampening decisions for clarity. The tempo is fairly bright (quarter note = 96) and the numerous sixteenth-note triplets will challenge most players. This nice solo definitely is worthy of consideration for solo contests. - George Frock, February, 1999
