Peter Kil showed a love for music at a very young age and so at the age of 5 he took his first drum lessons at the initiative of his parents. These private lessons were followed a short time later by lessons at the music schools of Bergen op Zoom and Borgerhout (Antwerp). He completed the latter music school in 1990 by obtaining two Medals from the Flemish Community, the so-called Government Medals, for both percussion and chamber music.

All this led to a series of special, memorable moments: tours through Europe, the US and Canada, countless radio and TV appearances and accompanying, among others, The Gibson Brothers and René Froger & The Frogettes.

In 2003 and 2004, he was involved in the organization of the youth percussion project “Slagkracht” together with Charles van Zanten, Wibrand van Norel and Ria Kornet.

He then entered the musical world by playing as a drummer (and sometimes also as a percussionist) in musicals such as “3 Musketeers”, “The Lion King”, “Tarzan”, “Petticoat”, “Wicked” and “Jersey Boys”. He also filled in as drummer for “Soldaat van Oranje” for several years.

He now spends most of his time on full-time work in a completely different sector, in which he also feels very much at home. However, he still finds the time to teach drums at home, to provide musical direction to the percussion department of the De Scheldezonen music association from Hoogerheide and, as time permits, he composes percussion compositions for Dutch Music Partners and Da Capo Music.
